Hosting Your Website Soon? © Copyright 2006 by CJ Hardy
Here's a really simple way... to decide on a suitable web
hosting company for your business.
If you are just fooling around and do not mind if a webhost
is reliable or not, just go ahead and pick one. But, you may well
regret it.
Focus On Reliability First. My point is... there are good and bad website hosts. There
are even bad, good ones! (Read on)
So make sure you get information from others via a Search
Engine like Google (type in "Web Host" and the Name of the
Company) or go to specific webhost forums and lurk.
Consider asking nicely for opinions in forums about the
web host you are investigating. This is possibly your best
method because you can receive responses in real time from those who know better.
Affordable Web Hosts are All Around You.There isn't much for me to expand on here. Take a look and
you'll see Shared Hosting is probably going to set you back
around $7 to $20 a month.
Don't be too cheap. $2.95 per month for hosting your site is
not ideal because there will be a service compromise. Unless
that kind of price is a special deal.
Don't Forget, You Need Good Advice From a Webhost.
This is called Support. Solid support is where you can easily contact your web host
via email, telephone, chat or in their forums. Several ways
to communicate with them is great for you. This is Good Support.
You may need to jump through hoops and breathe fire before
anyone will get back to you about your site being down, or
your urgent question about xyz. THIS is NOT Support.
When You Do Not Want Hassles, Here's What You Do.
Go for $7 minimum per month. Pick 4 or 5 web hosts that look
and sound good to you - some have site builders and shopping
carts, some don't - you choose.
Do your quick research in Google or Web Host Forums.
Narrow your list down to one and take the plunge.
In my experience, mistakes are only made when you do
not research a web hosting package and the company behind
it. That is Your responsibility to Your business online.
I've tried several web hosts, 3 were great and the rest were
mediocre to irritating.
Avoid panic and frustration by following these guidelines
and you will have done your best.
